These buckskins are white in color, very soft, and suede on both sides. Its appearance is similar to brian tanned buckskin and is very soft. These hides range from 7 square feet to 7 3/4 square feet and are measured by a laser scanner to be precise and exact. Hides range between 1 to 2 oz.

These are natural products so no piece is the same. Some pieces may have small holes or blemishes.


Crafts that can be made with these hides include flute bags, medicine bags, baby moccasins, and other crafts. I would not recommend this weight of buckskin for other moccasins except for baby moccasins. I recommend our premium buckskin for moccasins as their weight is higher at 3 to 5 ounces and much better for walking in.

Hide thickness is measured in ounces. One ounce equals 1/64" in thickness. Thus, a weight of 1 to 2 oz. means the leather is 1/64" to 2/64” thick.
